Hi, my name is Manga.

Thirty years operating diggers, the last seven of those on my own machine. Eighteen years with Otorohanga District Council running a 12 tonne. Thirteen more with Water Services and a National Certificate in water treatment and reticulation while I was at it.

In 2018 I finally bought my own 1.8 tonne and started Manga Roach Contracting. The small machine fits where the bigger ones can't, and when you ring me, you get me. No call centre, no quoting team, no apprentices learning on your section.

What I do

Manoeuvrable digger work for small jobs and tight places

1.8 tonne tracked digger gets through gates, between buildings, and around landscaping that bigger machines can't touch.

Preparation for retaining walls and driveways

Cut, batter, level and prep ready for the builder, the boxer or the sealcoat crew.

Reshape sections

Strip top soil, drop a hillside, level for a new house pad or extension. The full-section job that the named project below is built on.

Clear and remove vegetation

Trees, shrubs, hedgerows, overgrown banks. Cleared down to bare earth ready for the next stage.

Clear drains and water tables

Thirteen years with Water Services. National Certificate in water treatment and reticulation. Drains done properly the first time.

Remove small tree stumps

Bucket and ripper combo for stumps the chainsaw left behind. Pulled, loaded, gone.

Prepare auger holes

For posts, piles, foundations, planting. Clean holes, true vertical, the depth you asked for.
